International Health Service

Honduras

I will be spending 10 days in Honduras in October, working with IHS to support a temporary clinic in a remote village. People in rural Honduras don't have access to medical care, so when the clinic opens people walk for hours to reach it.

When I volunteered 3 years ago we landed our plane on a cow field and hiked our supplies into a remote town that had no running water, let alone antibiotics. For a week people flooded the clinic. We treated patient after patient, coming across many things we could help, and just as many things that we couldn't. It was humbling, invigorating, frustrating, and educational...and HOT! As many of you know, this type of work is why I became a nurse, and I feel so lucky that I found a way to make a difference in these people's lives. This year I'm blessed with the opportunity to join the team again.  Please consider donating a few $$ to help me make this trip possible.

Donation money will go towards travel expenses, the $500 project fee, room and board, and medical supplies. Any small amount is greatly appreciated!
